Are you a visitor or local looking to volunteer?
May 2022 is going to be volunteer month! We will have a number of projects that groups or individuals can participate in to complete the Children's Shelter and update the Nature Trail's signage.
We hope to start our demonstration project on sustainability in May 2022.
Ways to donate, COVID safe!
Thank you for thinking about donating to the Exuma Foundation. Remember you can make a cash donation to our (US) 501(c)3 Foundation, and receive a letter acknowledging your tax-deductible donation. If you are coming to Exuma, and you would like to donate goods, please understand that you will need to declare what you bring into The Bahamas, and items may be subject to duty and VAT (value added tax).
Our major initiative in 2022 is to open the Exuma Children’s Emergency Shelter. We would welcome donations of new children’s non-perishable items for the shelter. We will post our wish list on the website. Many children’s items can be brought into the country duty-free.
Our second priority is to launch an afterschool program for at risk youth in the fall, Covid regulations permitting.

Great Exuma and the Exuma Cays are part of the “Family Islands”, where historically Bahaian settlements were established. Late in the 20th century, much of the population migrated to Nassau, the country’s capital, where about 80% of all Bahamians live. Great Exuma is accessed by air and sea. The population of Great Exuma and the Exuma Cays is approximately 10,000 people. The Exuma Foundation's outreach efforts extend to communities on Great Exuma and the Exuma Cays.
